Science Communication
Effective science communication is one of the Boulder Bee Lab's core goals. Dr. Samuel Ramsey prioritizes science communication both in (including teaching an entire semester-long seminar on science communication) and out of the classroom.
As a professor, Ramsey has never forgotten his childhood lesson that fear often stems from a lack of understanding, which is why he emphasizes science communication in his classroom. Effective science communication, he argues, is not only vital for teaching but also critical for building public trust. 鈥淚f nobody can understand you, it doesn鈥檛 matter what your message is,鈥 he said. 鈥淯nfortunately, we saw this concept play out during the pandemic 鈥 scientists couldn鈥檛 connect with the general public, even when the message was about life and death.鈥
