Post-Doctoral Fellows
Luisa Marot
Luisa graduated from the University of São Paulo with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Metabolism in 2012. She received her Master of Health Sciences in 2018 and her PhD in Health Sciences in 2022 from the Federal University of Uberlândia. She worked as a temporary faculty member at the Federal University of Uberlândia, UNITRI, and Anhanguera in Brazil. She joined the SCL as a post-doctoral associate, and her research interests include the interactions between circadian misalignment—such as that experienced by shift workers—and eating patterns and metabolic health. Currently, she is investigating the impact of changes in light exposure timing and meal timing on proteins that reflect the rhythms of peripheral clocks.
Dana Withrow
After graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience DanaÌýworked as a research associate at the Henry Ford Health System Sleep Disorders and Research Center studying pharmacological treatments for individuals with insomnia disorder. DanaÌýreceived herÌýMaster of Science in Integrative Physiology in 2020 and her PhD in Integrative Physiology in 2023. She is currently working as a postdoctoral associate and researching the gut microbiome and 'omics.
Graduate Students
Virginia Edwards
Virginia is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Integrative Physiology with a research interest in shift work disorder and metabolic disease. She enjoys mentoring undergrads and teaching them more about sleep. Beyond her passion for the SCL, she works as an AEMT in Wray, CO, and enjoys skiing as well as playing with her dog (preferably at the same time). In the future, she hopes to attend medical school.Ìý

Zoe Meredith
Zoe started her Bachelor’s-Accelerated Master’s in Integrative Physiology in Fall 2024. She joined the SCL in March of 2022 and enjoys training the UGRAS on EEG hookups. She is currently doing a project on the amplitude of 24-hour energy expenditure rhythms and is interested in better understanding individual differences in sleep physiology. In her free time, she loves baking, hiking, and reading. Ìý

Maeve Sheehy
Maeve graduated in 2023 with her BS in Neurophysiology from Purdue University before becoming an NIH Prep scholar at the University of Rochester where she researched animal models of orexin deficiency. It has always been her dream to study sleep and circadian rhythms in humans, so Maeve feels very fortunate to be getting her PhD in the Sleep and Chronobiology Lab at CU. In her free time, you can find Maeve teaching her dog new tricks, playing board games, or volunteering with the Colorado Horse Rescue.Ìý
Professional Research Assistants
Andrea Munguia
Andrea is a Professional Research Assistant at the Sleep and Chronobiology Lab. She started out as an undergraduate assistant in 2024 and decided to continue working in the lab post-graduation. She graduated in May of 2025 from CU with a B.A. in Integrative Physiology and got two certificates in Neuroscience and Public Health. In her free time, Andrea loves spending money that she doesn't have!

Ellis Noteboom
Ellis joined the SCL in August 2024 after receiving her B.A. in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of San Diego. In undergrad, she worked in a cognitive psychology lab studying language perception. Ellis plans to go to graduate school in the near future but in the meantime is enjoying being back in her hometown of Boulder and working in the exciting world of sleep research!

Kate Timothy
Kate is a professional research assistant! She recently graduated from CU with a B.A. in Neuroscience and Psychology. She’s interested in the connection between sleep and psychological disorders and brain diseases. She has been in the lab since the summer of 2023 and looks forward to contributing to current circadian studies in the lab with a wonderful community.Ìý

Undergraduate Research Assistants
Jordan Copeland
Jordan is a double major at CU studying Integrative Physiology and Philosophy with a minor in sociology. Once she earns her bachelor's, she plans to pursue further training in both my degrees in hopes of becoming an emergency physician and clinical ethicist. What interests her most about being in the lab is being able to apply knowledge from CU's sleep physiology course to current sleep and chronobiology research. Additionally, she is interested in research ethics within my philosophy degree so being able to experience research ethics firsthand has been a very unique and exciting opportunity.Ìý
Shalin GalaÌý
Shalin is majoring in Integrative Physiology. His goal is to go to medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon. His favorite part about the lab is the welcoming community.Ìý
Caroline Greene
Caroline is a junior majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Caroline is a certified phlebotomist and loves helping with blood draws for the lab. She plans on attending medical school.Ìý

Isis Jenkins-Callendar
Isis is a neuroscience and Speech Language and Hearing Sciences major. She loves to watch movies and plays. Isis plans to apply to graduate school and get her PhD in communication sciences.Ìý
Dennis Kondratenko
Dennis is an Integrative Physiology major with a minor in Sociology. He plans to go into dentistry. He joined the SCL in May 2024. In his free time, he likes to go swimming. His favorite part about being in the lab is seeing how day-to-day habits affect sleep.Ìý
Isabelle Lattimer
Isabelle is an Integrative Physiology major who is fascinated by medicine and passionate about helping people. She appreciates how many opportunities exist within the Sleep and Chronobiology lab to immerse oneself in science. After undergrad, she aspires to attend medical school to become a surgeon.Ìý
