It is preferable if you come to this short course having reviewed some of these basic concepts that will be frequently mentioned:

  1. Data types. The most important is the Ordinal. The nominal is also impor- tant, but its importance relies on how different is from the ordinal.
  2. Probability. Cumulative probability.
  3. Odds, and also odds ratio.
  4. Cumulative odds.
  5. Logit and logistic regression.
  6. Some background in JMP. 
  7. In general data summarization is important.
