Due to the current federal government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has notified the State of Colorado that November 2025 SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits cannot be issued at this time.

Those who have EBT cards can continue using them to purchase food as long as there are existing benefits on the card. However, no new benefits will be added for November until further notice from the federal government. This change affects all SNAP households and cannot be appealed.

If you receive SNAP and are impacted, please let us know at basicneeds@colorado.edu and we can support you with additional resources. We are still assisting students with SNAP applications. For the latest updates regarding SNAP benefit allocations, visit your local county’s human services website, or reach out to Hunger Free Colorado for statewide information.

As a critical step toward upgrading our campus wireless networks to make them more secure and less susceptible to registration issues, OIT is launching two new Wi-Fi networks, CU Secure and CU Guest in December.

OIT is currently testing the new Wi-Fi networks, CU Secure and CU Guest, in the following buildings:

Wednesday, Nov. 5	8 a.m.	Smith Hall (SMTH)
Wednesday, Nov. 5	8 a.m.	Williams Village North (WVN)

When you arrive at one of these buildings after the cutover date (noted above), you will not be able to connect to UCB Wireless and UCB Guest. Instead, your device will show the new CU Secure and CU Guest networks.

The UCB Wireless and UCB Guest networks will remain available in the rest of the campus buildings through late December, when they'll be fully retired and replaced by CU Secure and CU Guest. Wired networks and eduroam won’t be affected by any of these changes.

Prepare Your Devices

If you normally connect a personal laptop, smartphone or tablet to UCB Wireless or UCB Guest, you'll need to install the CU Secure certificate/app (short link: buff.link/downloadwifi) to connect to CU Secure. You should download the certificate now on your personal devices, such as your smartphone.

Once installed, the certificate/app will allow your device to connect to CU Secure Wi-Fi for two years, after which you will be prompted to re-register.

If your computer was purchased through the university, check to see if it's enrolled in Secure Computing. If it is, then it already has the CU Secure certificate installed; you don't need to take any action for that device.

CU Guest Wi-Fi

If you’re in an early-access building and can’t connect to CU Secure or eduroam, you have the option to log in to CU Guest.

Similar to the current UCB Guest network, CU Guest isn’t encrypted, doesn’t permit access to certain campus resources, and requires users to log in daily.

If you or your colleagues have trouble registering a device, visit the CU Secure Wi-Fi page to access tutorials and troubleshooting resources.

Chancellor Justin Schwartz has announced that ��ƷSM��ӰƬ is granting five days of paid administrative leave and three paid holidays over Winter Break.

The ��ƷSM��ӰƬ campus will be closed on the following dates:

Thanksgiving Break:
- Thursday, Nov. 27 – Holiday
- Friday, Nov. 28 – Holiday
Winter Break:
- Wednesday, Dec. 24 – Administrative Leave
- Thursday, Dec. 25 – Holiday
- Friday, Dec. 26 – Holiday
- Monday, Dec. 29 – Administrative Leave
- Tuesday, Dec. 30 – Administrative Leave
- Wednesday, Dec. 31 – Administrative Leave
- Thursday, Jan. 1 – Holiday
- Friday, Jan. 2 – Administrative Leave

Regular campus operations will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

AiM Time Entry Guidelines for Holiday Leave (Nov. 27, Nov. 28, Dec. 25, Dec. 26, Jan. 1)

If you did not work on these dates:
- Enter your hours of leave using leave code HLDY in your timecard.
If you are overtime-eligible classified staff and worked on any of these dates, you may choose:
1. Holiday leave later (before June 30, 2026)
  - Use your normal time type (e.g. RGS, SHF) for the date you worked
  - When taking the hours of holiday leave later, use leave code FLHLDY and add a comment indicating the original holiday date (e.g. "December 25 holiday")
  - Coordinate with your supervisor to ensure proper scheduling and time entry.
2. Premium Pay (1.5x regular base rate):
  - Use time type 2HW under your assigned work order/phase.
3. Comp Time (1.5x hours banked):
  - Use time type CTHLDY under your assigned work order/phase.
  - Coordinate with your supervisor to ensure proper scheduling and time entry.

AiM Time Entry Guidelines for Administrative Leave (Dec. 24, 29, 30, 31; Jan. 2)

If you did not work on these dates:
- Use leave code ADLV in AiM.
If you worked on any of these dates:
- Use your normal time type (e.g., RGS, SHF) for the date worked.
- Work with your supervisor to schedule your 8 hours of Administrative Leave on a future date (before June 30, 2026).
- Coordinate with your supervisor to ensure proper scheduling and time entry.

MyLeave Instructions

Holiday leave will be automatically entered—no action needed.
Administrative leave must be manually entered. Enter your hours you took off on each administrative leave day and mark status as Administrative Leave.

Supervisors

Please verify that staff have entered the correct pay codes before approving timecards to avoid corrections.
For employees on 4/10, swing, or night shift schedules, confirm scheduled hours and holiday time off.
