Innovation Incubator
Ìý
With a goal to infuse our educational efforts with technology to achieve an active, experiential, and research-based approach to learning, the CTL Innovation Incubator (formerly ASSETT) engages collaborative teams of faculty, students, and staff in cycles of design thinking to develop innovative ideas for teaching and learning with technology. Funded teams work in three year innovation periods supported by the CTL innovation catalyst and other team members.
The mission of the CTL Innovation Incubator is to improve the undergraduate experience by making learning more active, accessible, and inclusive.
Experimentation: Calculated risk-taking leads to unexpected discoveries that can generate new knowledge and new ways of doing things.
Failure: Valuable insights are gained and exciting new directions taken when things “don’t work."
Emergence: New ideas need time to develop — oftentimes unexpectedly through both undetectable evolution and surprising bursts.
We envision a diverse community of learners — composed of students, faculty, and staff — who are engaged in purposeful, collaborative, creative, and impactful learning experiences.
