Alex Priou is Associate Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Austin (UATX), where he has also served as Interim Dean of Intellectual Foundations. He is the author of three books on Plato, Becoming Socrates: Political Philosophy in Plato's Parmenides (2018), Defending Socrates: Political Philosophy Before the Tribunal of Science (2023), and Musings on Plato's Symposium (2023), which was recently accepted for publication in German translation. He has edited/co-edited two volumes and written numerous articles on Greek poetry and philosophy and related themes. His current research project is a book on how ideological-technological thinking has changed education over the past centuries, especially the last, and how it might shape the future of education, positively and negatively, over the century to come.
